Misk Schools and AEON Partner for Climate Education
5/6/2023

Misk Schools and sustainability experts AEON have signed an MoU that further strengthens the schools’ capacity to educate and mentor students on crucial climate issues.

A tree planting ceremony was held to officially launch the partnership, during which students learned about the important role trees play in mitigating climate change, including how they provide wildlife habitats, improve air quality and provide organic nutrition. Students were also shown the proper way to plant young saplings and were able to practise their new skills with apricot, apple, fig and peach trees. Each plant is identified with its own, unique QR code which will allow students to track the trees' growth when they are planted at the new campus later this year.

AEON is a pioneering organisation that works to shed light on sustainability practices and encourage the development of ideas that contribute to socioeconomic development and progress. Misk Schools’ Director General Dr Steffen Sommer attended the ceremony and said: “We want to ensure our students are well educated in sustainability issues and that they develop an informed sense of responsibility for our shared planet. This new partnership with AEON will help us to achieve that goal. We are privileged to be working with such a professional and knowledgeable team.”
